It’s been said that ‘from tragedy comes triumph’ and Glass Alice continues to show strength while overcoming tragedy. Originally formed in the wake of the passing of guitarist Eric Albenze’s father, Eric reached out to his old friend and bandmate Mike Hermensky. Mike pounced at the opportunity to work with Eric once again. Despite the years apart they both immediately felt the old chemistry and began writing new material in just their first few weeks. Thus began the collaborative and prolific effort that forms the foundation of Glass Alice. 

Soon after Glass Alice began to play Ohio and the surrounding regions extensively, playing shows reaching as many as 2000 or more, but with a rotation of musicians in the rhythm section. A handful of independently released singles brought the band to the attention of producer Jim Wirt, known for his platinum selling work with Incubus, Hoobastank and Alien Ant Farm. With Wirt at the helm, the band recorded the songs that would form the core of their debut release “Bitten” (2020 – Super Delicious Records). 

In 2021 tragedy struck once again. Drummer Jon Ski died during the recording sessions for the band’s sophomore effort. In the lengthy hiatus that followed, drummer Michael Gargano came aboard to breathe new life into the project. The newly invigorated Glass Alice regrouped to not only finish the existing tracks but went on to write and record several new tracks as well. Their newest single “My World” is one of those tracks. 

Glass Alice has been compared to acts as diverse as Nirvana, Metallica and Sick Puppies. “My World” is the second single from  the forthcoming album “Premonitions” and the follow up to 2022’s “Late Nights” (the first single). It showcases the growth of the songwriting as the band continues to forge its own path that merges alternative, metal and grunge without fitting neatly into any of those genres. This diverse musical chemistry has earned the band accolades and fans from around the world.
